biography. Gregg
Tillery is a by-product of a mother who is a doctor of
audiology and a father who is obsessed with James Brown.
That union 27 years later would lead to an album
influenced by 60's soul and 70's funk.
The only boy in a family of 5 sisters,
Gregg's escape was Nintendo. But instead of the games
themselves, Gregg was gripped by the tiny sounds of the
electronic soundtracks, the first inspiration to his
future path in music. A
multi-instrumentalist, Gregg is self-taught in guitar,
banjo, drums, piano and almost everything that makes
noise. It's been a long road
for Gregg, a Florida native, whose journey to his current
home of LA is littered with hardships and challenges
leading to an upcoming directorial documentary debut on
drug addiction and homelessness. "This Pain is a
Gift" is slated to come out fall of 2009. One-on-one
interviews in violent communities and an in-depth
intimate look into life at rehab are just some of the
things "This Pain is a Gift" touches
upon. Through it all, music has
been the guiding muse for Gregg. Music has been his
survival. Gregg is currently on
tour to support "This Pain is a Gift" dropping
in fall 2009. His latest well-received show included
Googie's Lounge, New York's famed mecca for
promising up-and-coming artists.
